: When we read the first few lines of the poem, it was our thought that the
poem was about the clock towers. We also thought of the clocktowers' inability
to give right time through different clocktowers. They also failed to give
exact time as they were showing different times. Thus, we were of the opinion
that the poet wanted to deal with the nature of clocktowers. But when we
progressed, we came to know that it was about religious fanaticism. जब
