Subject:
Complaint regarding poor drainage system in our locality
Sir/Madam,
Through the columns of
your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned
authorities towards the poor drainage system in Shastri Nagar locality.
The drains in our area are
choked and overflowing for the past few weeks. Dirty water stagnates on the
roads, creating foul smell and unhygienic conditions. It has become a breeding
ground for mosquitoes and flies, increasing the risk of diseases such as dengue
and malaria. The situation worsens during rainfall, making it difficult for
residents, school children and elderly people to move out of their houses.
Despite several complaints
to the municipal authorities, no concrete action has been taken so far.
Therefore, I request you to kindly highlight this issue in your newspaper so
that the concerned officials take immediate steps to clean and repair the
drainage system.
I shall be highly grateful
for your support.
Thanking you.
Yours faithfully,
Mita

51. Write an article on 'Need to save water'.
Ans.
Need to Save Water
Water is one of the most
precious natural resources on Earth. It is essential for the survival of all
living beings. From drinking and cooking to agriculture and industry, every
aspect of life depends on water. Yet, despite its importance, water scarcity is
becoming a serious global problem.
Rapid population growth,
urbanisation and excessive use of water have led to the depletion of water
resources. Rivers and lakes are drying up, and groundwater levels are falling
at an alarming rate. Wastage of water in households, leakage in pipelines and
lack of awareness further worsen the situation.
Saving water is therefore
the need of the hour. Simple steps like turning off taps when not in use,
repairing leaks, using buckets instead of showers and reusing water for gardening
can make a big difference. Rainwater harvesting and water conservation
techniques should be encouraged at community and government levels.
Water is life, and without
it the existence of living beings is impossible. It is our collective
responsibility to use water wisely and conserve it for future generations. If
we act today, we can prevent a severe crisis tomorrow.
52. Write an article on Social Media and its impact.
Ans.
Social Media and Its Impact
Social media has become an
inseparable part of our daily lives. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram,
WhatsApp and X have changed the way people communicate, share information and
express their views. With just a click, we can connect with people across the world.
However, social media has both positive and negative impacts on society.
On the positive side,
social media helps in spreading awareness, sharing knowledge and staying
connected with friends and family. It provides opportunities for learning,
networking and even building careers. Many small businesses and creators use
social media to promote their work and reach a larger audience. It also plays
an important role in raising social issues and supporting meaningful causes.
On the other hand,
excessive use of social media can lead to addiction, distraction from studies
and reduced face-to-face communication. It sometimes spreads misinformation and
fake news, which can create confusion and conflict. Cyberbullying and online
harassment are also serious concerns, especially among teenagers.
Therefore, social media
should be used wisely and responsibly. It is a powerful tool that can either
benefit or harm us depending on how we use it. Maintaining a balance between
the virtual world and real life is essential for a healthy and productive life.
